15th Annual Gala Dinner Dance


New York Downtown Hospital is pleased to announce that its most celebrated event will take place on Thursday, October 2nd at Cipriani Wall Street, located at 55 Wall Street in New York City. The Gala provides support for the Hospital's emergency, primary and specialty programs as well as day-to-day operational needs.

Alfred F. Kelly, Jr., President of American Express, will be presented the Corporate Leadership Award. Mr. Kelly and American Express have made supporting Lower Manhattan a priority for decades. Only days after being displaced from its headquarters as a result of 9/11, American Express made the critical decision to return Downtown.

Dr. Sun-Hoo Foo, clinical professor of neurology and Hospital Trustee, will be honored with the Distinguished Physician Award for his contributions to medicine and his long-standing dedication to promoting cross-cultural understanding in the practice of medicine. Dr. Foo has worked tirelessly to improve the well-being of Asian-Americans by his advocacy for responsive health care policy.

Stephen J. Squeri, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of American Express Company will serve as Corporate Chair for this event. Peter Gross, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs & Co., and Frances G. Laserson, President of the Moody's Foundation, will be Vice Chairs.

The Gala will begin with cocktails at 6:00 p.m. on October 2nd at Cipriani Wall Street, and will be followed by a banquet, awards presentation and dancing. The event is Black Tie.
