The Podiatry service at New York Downtown Hospital is a division of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

The podiatry service is available to provide care for patients both as outpatients and in-patients.  For urgent matters, we are available through the emergency department 24 hrs a day.  We perform inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures as necessary.  These include reconstructive foot surgery, trauma surgery and surgery for wound related issues.

New York Downtown Hospital podiatrists maintain a private practice in podiatry on the fifth floor of the Hospital on Monday mornings and on Tuesday afternoons by appointment (646) 898-4741/4766. On Wednesday morning we provide a teaching clinic on the seventh floor. This session is supervised by the Division Chief of Podiatry, Dr. Edwin Wolf. Our large voluntary attending staff has offices throughout all of New York City and is available to see patients for all of their foot health care needs.

Educational conferences are held each week throughout the academic year and include lectures by attending staff as well as presentations by guest lecturers.  There are ongoing departmental performance improvement programs including quality assurance, as well as an active clinical research program.
