Faculty
Subspecialties within the Department of Medicine include: General Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastrointestinal Disease, Geriatrics, Pulmonary Medicine, Rheumatology, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Pain Management and Hematology/Oncology. The Directors of these subspecialty divisions are important members of the full or part-time faculty of our affiliated medical centers and have within their divisions other dedicated faculty.
The full-time faculty of the Department of Medicine maintain a hospital based faculty practice, the Downtown Medical Associates. In addition, there is a large faculty of private community based physicians, both generalists and subspecialists, who supervise the care of their private patients at DH and who often participate in teaching and non-private assignments.
