Dr. Warren B. Licht is an expert clinician specializing in preventive medicine, primary care, and international travel medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Licht received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, in May 1987. He received his Masters Degree in Physiology from Georgetown University and completed his Medical Degree there in 1992. Following his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center and Memorial - Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, he was appointed Chief Medicine Resident at New York Downtown Hospital in 1995. As a practicing physician, Dr. Licht’s commitment to the comprehensive health and well-being of all his patients blends the art and science of Internal Medicine with compassion and concern. Dr. Licht served as New York Downtown Hospital’s Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs and was responsible for the operations of physician enterprise in its totality from 2004-2011. His critical analysis and foresight encourages this to function at a high level of efficiency, with a resolute focus on opportunities for quality improvement and growth. As an educator, he ardently promotes the advancement of quality medical education across multiple specialties: mentoring and teaching young physicians, laying the foundation for their future careers. Dr. Licht holds a faculty appointment at Weill Medical College of Cornell University and is on staff at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Licht has served as the Medical Director of two organizations that conduct relief work in Central America and East Africa. More recently, Dr. Licht was instrumental in opening the New York Downtown Hospital’s new Wellness and Prevention Center, which he now guides as its Clinical Director.
